Jade will become the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario on July 24, 2009
Jade will embark on her journey to make history while raising funds for the SickKids Foundation. The only success greater than accomplishing her goal to swim the lake will be her success in raising the $35,000 needed to buy an infant incubator for SickKids. Yes, leaving her mark and giving a little will all culminate on this day in time.
Jade will be swimming solo 52km across Lake Ontario starting at Niagara-on-the-Lake at 8pm and finishing at Marilyn Bell Park in Toronto approximately 20 hours later. Inspired by Marilyn Bell’s achievement 55 years ago, Jade has worked relentlessly to prepare for this event. In 2008, she broke and holds the records for the youngest and fastest swim across Lake Erie. Now her sights are set on making history again.
